Race Bio: I currently drive for Rodney & Randy Timms from Oklahoma City.  I drive the 5e car, and am a team-mate to the 5r, which Randy drives.  The cars are Masterbuilt chassis with Gaerte engines.  I plan to run the entire NCRA schedule and a few open races (specials).

I started racing in 1978 in a street stock.  I started racing because I always loved racing and my father was involved in racing when I was young and I was always around dirt track racing.  He quit racing about 10 years before I started.  I never lost the love for racing, so when I was old enough (18) I built my own car without his blessing.  By mid season he became interested and we raced together until he retired from working and moved to Arkansas.

I eventually went from a street stock to an IMCA modified and raced mostly on dirt, but did race a few times on pavement.

I then moved into sprint cars and raced sprint cars for various owners until 1995, when I became tired of the travel associated with racing a sprint car. I then purchased an IMCA modified and intended to just race a few local races and retire in a year or two.  I then became tired of racing at home and took a few rides in Late Models and have been driving late models ever since.  The photos you saw of the yellow #1 car is the car I drove 2 years ago.  I drove one year for them (Delbert & Sam Smith) and then moved to their brothers team, Lonnie Smith racing where I raced last year.  Toward the end of the season, I started driving on my off nights for the Timms team which I drive for now.  I have planned to retire at the end of last year and try to do just a few pavement races, but the Timms talked me into doing one more year to help their son, Randy learn the late model ropes.  That is where we are today, of course with the addition of racing the Gary's Speed Shop #66.
