HANS® Device Consumer Alert
It has come to our attention that a lower quality neck brace is being sold as HANS® Devices. Oftentimes these units do not come with a complete set of teathers and/or anchors which puts the user at great risk and therefore makes them far inferior to a genuine HANS® Device. If you have purchased one of these "knock-off" units and it is missing teathers and/or anchors please contact a registered HANS® Device dealer like myself at 1-866-573-5003.

Announcement
Gary's Speed Shop is happy to announce that we have taken on the HANS® Device dealership. This piece of safety equipment provides head and neck support and is becoming mandated at most tracks around the country. Fatal injuries can happen at any speed if the crash is severe enough. Dale Earnhardt died of a basilar skull fracture yet hit the wall at only 43 mph. He was not wearing a head & neck restraint. In contrast, Ritchie Hearn hit the wall at over 200 mph. His only injury was a broken foot - and he credits the HANS® device with saving his life.
The HANS® device is something Gary's Speed Shop fully endorses for racers from all walks of life. Gary is factory trained and factory authorized for sales and service. Within the upcoming weeks we will be adding a HANS® Device section to GarySpeedShop.com which will provide additional safety, feature and purchase information. We will have a booth at the Tulsa Shoot Out this coming week and the week of Jan 8-13th we will be at the Chili Bowl booth #138, please stop by.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Schedule Added
The 2006 race schedule has been added to the Super Truck Al Stars section. It includes all the Mid-West Division SCCA and COMMA races. We've almost got two trucks ready to go so we hope to see at a few this summer.
1/11/2006
We hope to have our 06 schedule of proposed races out by the end of the month.
We are still looking for a title sponsor for our series. It seems like NASCAR has the upper hand there.
It looks as though Eddie and Greg will be trading seats. Eddie has been visiting with a possible marketing partner for this season. More to come when we close that deal.
Luigi has been working on a marketing partner in Italy and hopes to make a full season here in the USA.
We still have one open seat if someone has the resource's to fill it. Either for a single race or for a full season.
If someone out there can help us find a title sponsor for this season, there is room for you in our organization.
All our contact numbers are still good.
9/16/2005
Well I suppose everybody is wondering if we are still around. Here I am.
This has been a mess this year with Eddie moving from Ada to North of Tulsa. Greg has been involved with opening a new store in Wichita Falls. Ron well ?? And Luigi been chasing a sports car title in Italy and been too busy to come here to race.
As for me I have been doing some chassie up dates on the 16 that have taken longer than expected. We had planned to go to Wisconsin to race 4 races with Mid-Am and 5 trips Oklahoma to race at Hallett but have had too many scheduling conflicts. We still hope to make the last round at Hallett.
STAS is still looking for a title sponsor. We are hoping someone will come on board that sees value in becoming a marketing partner.
contact info@garysspeedshop.com
We also have plenty of space available on our trucks for anyone interested in marketing there product through our motorsports program.
contact info@garysspeedshop.com
Luigi 26 truck is still for sale.
4/07/2005
The 2005 Race Schedule has been updated. See the link on the right for details.
2/24/2005
We are looking for interested parties that want to races with SCCA or COMMA. Three of the trucks are log booked with SCCA and run in Super Production. With the run offs coming to Heartland Park Topeka we can offer a fair amount of track time at reasonable rates. Anyone interested should contact us at info@garysspeedshop.com for prices an availability.
I have been visiting with a potential title sponsor. We are hoping to sanction a race or two under our own STAS sanction.
2/21/2005
Congratulations to our friends at Mid Am. They have acquired the ASA series and are now working on putting together a race schedule. Check them out at http://www.asl-midamracing.com/

"USST welcomes displaced ARTS and All Star trucks. The spirit of USST rules is to make the wide variety of truck classes competitive. Rules will be adjusted as racing provides results to base decisions on. Building towards the USST rules is the direction. These truck classes will not be limited when built to USST rules."

Thanks to Jeremy Petty and Don "Shorty" Burks for participating in the Gary's Speed Shop Rent-A-Ride program at DCRP this weekend.
Jeremy Petty, a regular at DCRP in the modified division, took to the #99 super truck like a duck takes to water. He commented that it would be hard to adjust back to his Mod because the handling characterisics of the GSS super truck made it so easy to drive.
Don "Shorty" Burks, an accomplished dirt track racer in the Oklahoma City area, had a blast driving the #26 and refused to get out of the truck after the race was over. This was his first experience on an alsphalt track.
Both drivers had top ten finishes.
